Nathalie Lété is one of those artists who has inspired us for years. Her whimsical, colorful, and dreamlike universe has a way of sparking joy and bringing out childlike wonder in everyone. So, when the opportunity to work with her came along, we couldn’t say yes fast enough.
We met Nathalie Lété in her studio in Paris, where all the magic is happening. And it came clear to us very fast, that she’s not just an artist; she’s a storyteller who creates her own dreamlike universe. When asked to describe herself, Nathalie shares that, at heart, she’s still the little girl who adores collecting flowers, vibrant papers, and tiny treasures to fill her scrapbook of magic and wonder. Her work is a rich tapestry of influences — from folk art and vintage toys to the beauty of nature and ethnographic treasures.
For Nathalie, her artistic process is deeply tied to color. She calls it her source of happiness and emotion. "The combination of colors gives me emotions," she says, "and this is the most important thing — to make emotions alive." This passion for color infuses everything she creates, making her work vibrant, joyful, and utterly unique.
Everyday magic with rice
Among her many collaborations, Nathalie’s partnership with rice holds a special place. She first discovered rice when her children were small and admired the brand’s ability to bring joy to everyday life. So, when the opportunity to work together arose, it felt like a natural fit.
The collection combines Nathalie’s enchanting designs with rice’s philosophy of creating "everyday magic." For Nathalie, this magic lies in the little things that bring comfort, happiness, and smiles to daily life. The collection includes vibrant plates and oval platters — pieces Nathalie loves for their classic shapes and everyday functionality. "I like the idea of using them for a chic picnic," she says, imagining how they’ll add color and joy to simple moments. Her all-time favorite piece from the collection is the serving plate with flowers.
