And maybe more challengingly – something you didn’t also just make the last 10 days in a row..

So to help you with that – here is Selma’s Superhero Spelt Porridge recipe with chia seeds and blueberries!

This porridge is tasty, delicious and stays very soft and smooth - it’s called superhero, because that is the feeling it leaves you with when you have it for breakfast!

What do you need for the spelt porridge recipe with chia seeds and blueberries?

The first rule for making delicious spelt porridge (or just any porridge in general) is.. there are no rules!

You can make the spelt porridge with anything you like and really personalize it to you and your family's preferences.

So if you have any seeds, nuts or toppings that you already know will be a hit around the table - feel free to add them and add your own twist to the spelt porridge recipe!

But to make Selma's Superhero Spelt Porridge the ingredients you need are:

  • 200 g spelt
  • 0.7 l water or oat milk
  • 1 – 1.5 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 large apple grated or 2 mashed bananas
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • Pinch of salt
  • 100 g blueberries

This will make enough porridge for 2 large portions or 4 small ones.

As for the topping – remember there are endless ways to personalize it! But here are some of our delicious favorites:

  • Apple compote
  • Roasted coconut flakes
  • Passion fruit
  • Fresh mint leaves

How to make the spelt flakes porridge?

To make Selma's spelt porridge recipe you start by putting the spelt flakes in a casserole with the coconut oil.

Here you add half of the liquid and stir on low heat. Then add chia seeds and the banana or grated apple to the spelt porridge.

Keep stirring the porridge at low heat and add a pinch of salt as you add the rest of the liquid gradually.

Stay close to the pot and stir the porridge for approximately 2-3 minutes.

After that you add your favorite toppings to the spelt porridge and enjoy!

You could also serve the spelt porridge cold - it tastes just as delicious even when it's not freshly made! Try and add a bit of fresh milk on top for a delicious and refreshing breakfast (or pre-lunch snack).
