A colorful kids’ room with Eva Kerk
Step inside the home of Eva Kerk in Wrocław, Poland, where beautiful colors, charming details, and cozy corners make room for family life with two young children.
Eva is a content creator and mum to Elea (5) and Keanu (2). Together with her husband Sebastian and their two children, she moved from Germany to Poland three years ago because of Sebastian’s work in professional football.
Since then, the family has lived in several Polish cities, moving almost every year. With Sebastian often away for several days at a time, Eva spends her days looking after the children, creating content, and making their house feel like home. And after moving so many times, she knows a thing or two about making a new place feel like their own.
Get inspired by Eva’s best tips for bringing more color into kids’ rooms and creating a cozy, personal home with room for the whole family.
A place to call home
For Eva, home is all about creating a space where everyone feels they belong.
Even though the family is currently renting and Eva can't always change everything she'd like to, that doesn't stop her from filling their home with color, beautiful finds, and personal touches.
“I love making the most of what we have, and it always makes me so happy to see how much a place can change when you make it your own,” Eva shares.

Kids’ rooms full of color
When decorating Elea and Keanu's rooms, Eva wanted to create cozy and practical spaces with plenty of room for toys, books and imaginative play.
Color plays a big role in both rooms. Butter yellow adds warmth, while shades of blue in Keanu's room and pink details in Elea's give each space its own special feel.
Eva loves mixing colors, patterns and the children's favorite things to create rooms that feel personal and full of life.
"You don't have to keep everything neutral to make a room feel calm. The right colors can make it feel warmer and much more personal."

Making room for all the toys
With two young children in the house, toys, books and all kinds of treasures are naturally part of everyday life.
Eva likes keeping things where the children can see and reach them. That way, they can easily find their favorite toys, choose what they want to play with and help tidy up afterwards.
"That's why I love beautiful toy storage. rice has such lovely boxes – they can be part of the room rather than something you feel you need to hide."

Let the imagination run wild
In Eva's home, creativity isn't limited to a desk or a special play corner. There's room for creative play throughout the house!
One moment the children are building something on the floor, the next they're drawing, playing pretend or getting lost in their favorite books. Eva loves watching Elea and Keanu come up with their own ideas and giving them the freedom to use their rooms however they like.
And the playful details don't stop at the kids' room door. A colorful cup at breakfast, a fun plate at lunch or a basket of toys in the living room are all part of everyday family life.

Eva's 3 tips for a colorful kids’ room
Feeling inspired to add a little more color to your kids' room? Here are three of Eva's favorite decorating tips.
- Choose colors you truly love
You don't have to stick to neutral shades to create a cozy kids' room. Experiment with different colors and choose the ones you love having around you. - Keep things within reach
Place books and toys where children can easily reach them. It makes it easier for them to come up with their own games and encourages independence. Beautiful baskets and storage boxes are a great way to keep things organized while adding a decorative touch. - Let the room grow with your child
What's a favorite today might be forgotten in six months. Eva recommends creating a base you love and changing the smaller details as your children's interests evolve. That way, you don't have to redecorate the entire room every time.
