Forest Full of Care
At rice, we’ve always believed in adding magic to the everyday – but behind the colors and playful patterns lies a deeper wish: to give something back. That’s the
idea behind rice Happy Earth, our long-term nature project growing quietly on a piece of former farmland on the Danish island of Funen.

From fields to forest
What used to be conventional fields are now becoming a forest. We’ve planted 65,000 trees, scattered wildflowers, and shaped a landscape where nature can slowly return.

Lakes, life, and little footprints
We’ve restored one polluted lake and created another, bringing the total to seven
small lakes — some for birds, others for frogs and newts. To protect the
youngest trees, we’ve fenced off certain areas to give them a fighting chance.
The forest is already alive with birdsong, buzzing insects, and tracks from quiet visitors like deer, hedgehogs, and other forest friends.
“For me, rice Happy Earth is a very small project, but it’s a real effort to help the planet. In fact, it’s a kind of payback to the future generations. ”Philippe Gueniau, CEO and Co-founder of rice
rice Happy Earth is something deeply personal for our CEO and Co-founder, Philippe Guéniau. Every Tuesday and Thursday, you’ll find him there – often with the sweet rice office dog Stella next to him– improving, planting, maintaining, and making sure this green vision continues to grow, week by week.

One Place, Big Impact
Nature responds when given space. From lake restoration to planting a wide mix of
species, rice Happy Earth is shaped with biodiversity in mind.
The forest stores carbon, protects groundwater, and offers a haven for plants, insects, and animals. It’s a small place — but the impact is growing.
Growing with Heart
There’s a saying we often return to:
“No one can help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”
rice Happy Earth is our way of living that belief. A small step toward caring for the planet we all call home. A way of giving back — not because we have all the answers, but because we believe in trying and caring.
Welcome to rice Happy Earth.
